Using Merlintravel is voluntary. If you do not accept the limits described here, please do not use the website. This statement does not remove any rights or protections that the law makes mandatory.

1. Information, not a travel service

The material is intended for cultural interest and personal travel planning. It is not personalised professional advice, a safety assessment, a guided excursion or a guarantee that a destination or activity is suitable for you.

Merlintravel’s editorial descriptions do not constitute travel bookings, ticket reservations or package-travel offers. Naming a museum, hotel, transport service, guide or event does not make Merlintravel its operator or agent. Any booking you make with a third party is subject to that provider’s terms and applicable law.

2. Accuracy and changing information

Care is taken with the material, but errors, omissions and outdated information may remain. Historical interpretations can be disputed or revised. Dates, names, translations and reconstructions may reflect the sources and conventions used in a particular guide.

Opening hours, prices, transport timetables, access arrangements, exhibitions, permits and closures can change after a page has been written. A revision date does not mean every linked source has been checked in real time. Saved pages, screenshots and cached copies may show an earlier version.

Merlintravel’s maps and images are artistic illustrations, including material created or assisted by artificial intelligence. They are intended to help explain places, not to provide surveyed cartography or an exact photographic record. Labels, proportions, distances, terrain and the position or appearance of buildings may be simplified or contain inaccuracies.

A reconstructed historical scene is an interpretation, not evidence that every depicted detail existed in that form. An illustration of a gallery or archaeological site does not guarantee that the same display, condition or viewpoint is available today.

Do not use an illustrated atlas to navigate, assess terrain or make a safety-critical decision. Use current, appropriate maps and official route information. An image or line on a map does not establish a public right of way or permission to enter.

4. Routes, access and physical conditions

Suggested combinations of places are planning ideas. They are not surveyed itineraries, certified walking times or assurances that every stop can be visited in one day. Travel time depends on transport, connections, queues, terrain, season, fitness and the time spent at each place.

Descriptions do not certify step-free access, accessible toilets, suitable surfaces or assistance for a particular disability. Check your requirements directly with each venue or operator, including temporary obstacles and the availability of any assistance you need.

Respect private property, protected areas, religious services, photography restrictions and conservation rules. Do not enter closed buildings, excavation areas, caves or restricted paths merely because they appear in a guide. Follow instructions given by staff and authorities.

5. Outdoor activities and personal safety

Mountain paths, coastlines, water, caves, ruins and remote places can involve hazards that a general travel guide cannot assess.
